After spending much of my visit to D.C. struggling to find vegan food,
this eatery provided much relief to my protein-deprived body. I
had the Chicken Guava sandwich. It was okay for me ... more of a taste
preference than anything. It had a spicy kick and reminded me of pimento
cheese, which I've never been a fan of. I also had the Turkey Club. It
was really good and satisfying. I also had a small vanilla milkshake. It
wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good enough. There
are plenty of vegan options, which make this place an oasis for any
vegan. My only disappointment was that they weren't open late or on
Sundays. I would've loved to have tried more things on the menu.

Harmony Café Review
My vegan friend took me here years and years ago. I actually haven't
been in about a year. My mom and I used to come here regularly. I
don't see why you'd come here and get the meat version of a dish. I
find the only reason to come is to try the veggie stuff. Shitake
mushrooms and the crispy tofu are the two best appetizers. My favorite
entrees are the veggie fish and crispy eggplant in garlic sauce. Since
my first visit over 10 years ago, I have not seen another worker in the
front. It's been that lady the whole time. I feel bad for her when it
gets packed and she's running around like a headless chicken. She's
really friendly and if you go enough, she'll remember what you want.
I've always wondered if she's ever been on vacation.

v Falafel Review
I work up the street from this place. A few co-workers of mine were
hungry and couldn't get away so I told them I would grab them lunch.
They sent me to v Falafel. I thought I wasn't hungry but as soon as I
walked into this place I realized I was. It smelled really good and the
food looked amazing. You get to create your own and all the ingredients
are right there in front of you. The flavors were great and I really,
really loved my falafel. I used to go across the street to Subway. I
won't be doing that any more. They are priced competitively and its a
local business, not some faceless chain. The guy who was running the
joint couldn't have been nicer. He was very warm and inviting.
Thanks v Falafel for a really nice lunch!

Sur La Table Review
I took my first cooking class at Sur La Table and the whole experience
was excellent! The cake baking class was taught by Amy Riolo and Sean (I
think that's his name) organizes the classes... offered me an espresso
when I arrived and tea with preserves and baguette were given to us
during the class.
The class was really interesting and Amy had us make some amazing cakes such as a hazelnut torte, a saffron infused cake and a few other unusual ones. It was a lot of fun. I've signed up for a few more different classes!

CulinAerie Reiew
A brilliant concept that was well executed. I attended for a party so
the entire room was with my group and from start to finish everyone had a
great time. Wine and beer welcome you upon arrival and once the guests
are there the chef and her two assistants go over the menu briefly to
ensure no one has any allergies to the ingredients. Then the fun
begins! The chef demonstrates the preparation at her table with a
camera above to project her actions on big screen TVs so that those
farther back can watch. Arriving hungry was a mistake as we had to
prepare each course ourselves and I know I wasn't the only one who had a
few of the ingredients get "lost" in the process. The cooking was a
team effort and thankfully we were able to eat what we made. At the
end, the chef shared all of the recipes with us so we could attempt to
re-create our dishes at home.
